The Greensboro Symphony Orchestra will offer a tribute to the heroes and victims of the September 11 terrorist attacks during a concert at 2 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 15 in McCrary Theatre, located in the Faith Rockefeller Model Center for the Arts on the Elon University campus.
Under the direction of Stuart Malina, the orchestra will perform a powerful program of works that symbolizes the heroic deeds of those who risked and lost their lives on Sept. 11, 2001. The program will feature Barber’s “Adagio for Strings,” Strauss’ “Death and Transfiguration,” and Beethoven’s “Eroica Symphony #3.”
The Greensboro Symphony Orchestra is in its 44th season, and its second at Elon as part of the symphony’s Burlington Series, which played to sold-out houses in McCrary Theatre in 2001-02.
Tickets for the concert are priced at $15 and $20, or free with valid Elon identification. Tickets may be purchased by calling the McCrary Theatre box office at (336) 278-5610. The box office is open from 12:30 p.m.-5 p.m., Monday-Friday.
