African elections expert to speak Sept. 27

Baffour Agyeman-Duah, associate director of the Center for Democratic Development in Ghana, will discuss democratic elections in contemporary Africa during a lecture at 9:20 a.m., Friday, Sept. 27 in Whitley Auditorium.

He will discuss the challenges African states face in holding democratic elections and some of the successes that are often overlooked in the Western media. He will relate some of his own experiences as a consultant on elections in Ghana, Nigeria, Liberia and Sierra Leone.
