Dobyns to read poetry, short story selections at Elon October 7

Prolific author Stephen Dobyns will give a reading of his poetry, novels and short stories at 7:30 p.m., Monday, Oct. 7 in Yeager Recital Hall, located in the Faith Rockefeller Model Center for the Arts on the Elon campus.

Dobyns will read selections from his collection, which includes nine books of poetry, sixteen novels, a compilation of short stories and a book of essays about poetry.

He will also be available for a question-and-answer session with students from 9:45 a.m.-10:25 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 8 in Carlton 209.

Dobyns has taught at the University of Iowa, Syracuse University, Boston University, and now teaches at Sarah Lawrence University and Warren Wilson College.

Dobyns’ reading, sponsored by the English Department and the William Maness Fund, is free and is open to the public.
