Internationally-renowned singer Bari Koral will perform at 9 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 2 in The Zone, located in Elon University’s Moseley Center. Sponsored by the Student Activities Office, the performance is free and open to the public.
Koral offers an alternative sound that has been compared to artists like Jewel, Ani DiFranco and Shawn Colvin. Her first self-titled CD found play on various national radio stations and was released in Japan, where it sold out of its first pressing. Koral was featured in a live cable broadcast from Disney World in a New Year’s Eve special seen in over 4 million homes across America, and has opened for artists such as Joan Osborne, Lisa Loeb and Lenny Kravitz.
Koral recently released her newest CD, “Joy,” which has received praise in music magazines and daily papers around the country, including Billboard Magazine. Songs from “Joy” have been used on NBC’s “Providence”, Oprah Winfrey’s Oxygen Network and the independent feature film “The Liar’s Club.” Her single, “In the Beginning,” is currently on the charts in Europe.
