Elon to host seminar on sexual violence, assault February 12

April Durr, an Elon alumnus and community outreach coordinator at CrossRoads Sexual Assault Response and Resource Center in Burlington, will address the issue of sexual violence on college campuses at 7 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 12 in Yeager Recital Hall, located in the Faith Rockefeller Model Center for the Arts on the Elon University campus.

Students in Advanced Ceramics courses, taught by Mike Sanford, associate professor of fine arts, are sponsoring the event as part of Project Pericles, a new program to increase civic engagement on college campuses. Students in these classes have been involved in fundraising for CrossRoads. Sanford hopes to raise awareness about rape and sexual assault, the second-most common violent crime committed on college campuses.

Admission is free and the event is open to the public.
