Curran Reichert to explore spirituality, arts during February 26 presentation

Curran Reichert, a singer, actor and ordained minister, will explore the intersection of spirituality and the arts during a presentation at 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 26 in Whitley Auditorium, located on the Elon University campus. Her appearance, which is free and open to the public, is sponsored by the Chaplain’s Office. Her presentation focuses on the power and wisdom of the body to unlock the secrets of the human mind, heart and spirit through the use of movement, storytelling and dance.

Reichert, who completed her seminary education at the Pacific School of Religion, will perform selections from her latest CD, “Oh My Wings.” An ordained United Church of Christ minister, Reichert serves as associate pastor at the First Parish of Westwood, Mass. She is co-founder of ARTSS, a non-profit organization designed to promote ministry through the arts.

She joined the ministry after an eight-year acting career in New York, where she performed on and off Broadway and in regional theater, film and television. She has appeared in several films, including “The Associate” with Whoopie Goldberg and “Three Wives Club” with Goldie Hawn, Bette Midler and Dianne Keaton.
