Aloma, Food For the Poor vice president, to speak March 4

Angel Aloma, executive vice president of Food For the Poor, will discuss poverty and instability from a Latin American perspective at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, March 4 in Whitley Auditorium, located on the Elon University campus.

Food For the Poor, a Christian international aid organization, distributes food and relief throughout the Caribbean and Central America, and has forged cooperation between churches in developed and developing countries. Through this organization, Aloma, a Cuban native, has been able to focus attention on the politics and poverty of Latin America.

Aloma’s speech is free and open to the public and is sponsored by the Liberal Arts Forum.
