Elon University has been named to five top-20 lists in the 2004 edition of The Princeton Review’s “America’s Best 351 Colleges.” This is Elon’s second year in the Princeton Review’s annual ranking, which is based on surveys of 106,000 students.
Elon is ranked second in the nation in the “beautiful campus” ranking and third in the nation on the academics list ranking schools where “professors make themselves accessible” to students. Elon is ranked 11th in the categories for “happy students,” “school runs like butter” and “major frat and sorority scene.”
In addition, Elon is named to the list of the “Best in the Southeast,” one of five regional publications The Princeton Review has produced listing the top 100 colleges and universities in each section of the country.
Elon students quoted in this year’s publication praised the close, mentoring relationships they have with faculty and the hands-on and interactive approach to learning. The guide also notes the excellent study abroad program, Elon’s outstanding speaker series and the large number of student organizations that involve students in service-learning and leadership.
Princeton Review says its survey results of Elon students revealed the following:
- Campus is beautiful
- Classes are small
- Students are happy
