The Department of Performing Arts will present “Hot l Baltimore” at 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 5-Saturday, Oct. 8 and at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 8 and Sunday, Oct. 9 in the Black Box Theatre, located in the Center for the Arts on the Elon University campus.
The scene is the lobby of a rundown hotel so seedy that it has lost the “e” from its marquee. As the action unfolds, the residents, ranging from young to old, from the defiant to the resigned, meet and interact with each other during the course of one day. Their humor and struggles create a poignant, powerful call to America to recover lost values and to restore itself. This play contains mature language and subject matter; viewer discretion is advised.
Tickets for the performance are $12, or free with Elon identification. Tickets may be purchased at the McCrary Theatre box office at (336) 278-5610. The box office is open from 12:30 p.m.-5 p.m., Monday-Friday.
