Rodenbeck to discuss participatory art, Nov. 3

Judith Rodenbeck, professor of visual culture at Sarah Lawrence College, will discuss the evolution of participatory art during a lecture at 6 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 3 in Yeager Recital Hall, located in the Center for the Arts on the Elon University campus. Her presentation is free and open to the public.

Rodenbeck has published and taught extensively on the art of the 20th century. She has written for numerous publications and served as co-editor of “Experiments in the Everyday: Alan Kaprow and Robert Watts-Events, Objects and Documents.” In her lecture, Rodenbeck will explore the genealogy of participatory art events that developed from the work and ideas of John Cage and Umberto Eco.
