Chandana Chakrabarti, associate professor of religious studies, was invited to direct an international interdisciplinary conference at Minnesota State University, Mankato. Hosted by Mankato’s philosophy department, the conference was titled “Politics,Pluralism and Religion.” Held April 13-14, the conference included participants from the U.S.,Canada, Trinidad, and China.
Robert Audie, professor of philosophy and David E. Gallo Professor of Business Ethics at the University of Notre Dame, delivered the keynote address. Chakrabarti also directed a cultural program for the participants and the community. Participants and community members enjoyed sitar recital and dance performance in the evening after academic sessions on April13.
Chakrabarti has also been invited by the Cambridge Scholars Press to edit a book
titled “Politics,Pluralism and Religion.” Chakrabarti is working on this publication and on her next book on the topic of rethinking mysticism.
