“Testing Positive” scheduled to be televised in the United Kingdom

“Testing Positive,” the short narrative film co-sponsored by Project Pericles and the School of Communications and screened locally in 2006, is scheduled to be televised by the Community Channel in the United Kingdom this afternoon at 4 p.m. (9 p.m. in the UK).  More than 50 students, faculty and staff were involved in the production of this film during the 2005-06 school year.  The May 2006 screening of Testing Positive at the Paramount Theater in downtown Burlington raised more than $3,800 for Alamance Cares, a local organization devoted to educating the public about HIV/AIDS. The Periclean Scholars Class of 2006 organized this event.

Testing Positive is a drama about love and health.  Jenna discovers her boyfriend has been unfaithful and worries about the implications.

The channel is a free-to-air TV station available to 16.5 million
digital households in the UK and to 41 million potential viewers.
Around 1.2 million people tune in every month.
Community Channel is broadcast 24 hours a day, every day, on Sky 539, Virgin TV 233.
