The candidates are scheduled to meet with Education School faculty, staff and students as well as key academic administrators.

The entire community is invited to meet the candidates on the first day of each of their visits from 4:00 – 5:00 PM.  Each candidate will speak and take questions on the following topic:

The composition of Elon’s School of Education is unique in that it houses programs traditionally found in schools of education, as well as programs in Leisure and Sport Management, Exercise Sport Science, and Physical Therapy. The dean will be responsible for maintaining the synergy that has developed over time by fostering the unique interconnections among these programs. In addition, because the arts and sciences are central to all of the professional programs at Elon, the dean must maintain strong connections between professional education and the arts and sciences. In order to promote programs that are models of excellence and at the forefront of the professions, it will be necessary for the dean to have a sound understanding and appreciation of all segments of the school and a vision of education beyond public schools or traditional programs. Based on this description, what is your vision for the Elon School of Education?

The community presentations from 4:00 – 5:00 PM will be in the following locations:

·        H. Frederick Sweitzer  – February 11 – LaRose Digital Theatre

·        Thomas B. Pierce – February 18 – Oaks 212
