On Tuesday, March 4, the Women’s and Gender Studies program will be hosting a reception and panel to mark the 20th anniversary of the program at Elon.
We will be gathering in the Isabella Cannon Room at 4 p.m. for a reception and will be having a panel on the “Past, Present and Future of WGS at Elon” at 5 p.m. We welcome anyone interested in issues of gender and sexuality, as well the future of WGS, to join our celebration and conversation.
WGS is an interdisciplinary program with classes that examine the ways that gender and sexuality shape our worlds. Specifically, WGS classes explore how the categories of gender and sexuality intersect with race, class, age, religious affiliation, ethnicity, etc. WGS minors pursue careers and/or graduate education in areas such as English, History, Psychology, Sociology, Human Services, Business, Political Science and many other fields.
If you have questions about the event or the WGS program, please feel free to contact Lynn Huber at lhuber@elon.edu or ext. 5709.
