International Carnival on March 1 moved to McKinnon

Intercultural Relations Club’s International Carnival has been moved to McKinnon. Same time (6:30-8:30), same event, just a new location!

Come out to experience aspects of carnivals from around the world. We’ll also have a treasure hunt, and first place teams will win prizes. If you would like to sign up for this event, please e-mail irc@elon.edu with teammates’ names (3-5) and organization name (if applicable). There is no entry fee.

And at the same time, you can learn about Hurricane Katrina Relief efforts in New Orleans and other areas. Many families have still not been able to return home, and we want to help change this! We’ll watch an Amnesty International video about the situation in New Orleans and hear from Elon students who have been down to Louisiana and Mississippi on Elon service trips.

Admission is FREE, but donations to Amnesty International’s Right to Return Campaign will be accepted. Event t-shirts will be sold for $10, and the proceeds will go to Amnesty International’s campaign as well.

After the International Carnival, stay for the Elon Idol Competition at 8:30 p.m. (also in McKinnon). Watch students compete and vote for your favorite contestant! Votes are only $1, and all proceeds go towards Hurricane Katrina Relief.
