Haiti is one of the most beautiful and unique countries
in the world but unfortunately it is also one of the poorest and
neediest. The saddest part is that it is only 600 miles away, in the
U.S.’s backyard, yet most Americans know little about Haiti and its
struggles.
At Elon we have the chance to change this trend
through awareness and action. If you are interested in learning more
about how you can become involved in this movement towards awareness
and outreach for Haiti please come to the general interest meeting this
Thursday (5/8/2008) at 6 p.m. at the fireplace lounge in Moseley. The
meeting will lay out an organization that will be started in the Fall,
dedicated acting locally for Haiti’s cause.
