The English Department and the African/African-American Studies Program invite you to a reading by the poet Van Jordan on Thursday, Sept. 25, at 7:30 p.m. in McEwen 011.
The writer Joy Harjo says this about Van Jordan’s work: “He forms a poem the way Coltrane blows a horn, but a little bluer like Miles all mixed up with Robert L. Johnson, and then the philosophy of Mingus weaving it all together.” Come hear the good sounds.
