Winston-Salem Journal quotes Bacot on “electability” for Democrats

Hunter Bacot

Hunter Bacot, an associate professor of political science and director of the Elon University Poll, was quoted in the April 6 edition of the Winston-Salem Journal in a story on the Democratic race for president. Staff writer James Romoser’s story looked at the importance Democratic voters are placing on the likelihood of either Sen. Hillary Clinton or Sen. Barack Obama defeating Republican Sen. John McCain in the general election for president in November.

Bacot said he believes that factor doesn’t influence voters too much.

“I don’t think itresonates as part of their calculus, because they’re seeking someone toaddress either issues important to them or issues important to theparty,” said Hunter Bacot, a political scientist at Elon University whodirects the university’s monthly poll.
