AKA Minority Cancer Awareness Week

Did you know that racial and ethnic minorities are up to three times as likely as non-minorities to be diagnosed with cancer at some time in their lives? Join the ladies of Alpha Kappa Alpha in various events to be held through the week as we raise awareness and encourge prevention against the deadly disease in its many forms.

Tuesday: Join the ladies of AKA at College Coffee at 9:40 a.m. as we distribute prevention and awareness literature

Wednesday: PHIRST Comes Health, Then Comes Wealth…Join us in The Zone @ 5:30 p.m. for our two part program on how to utilize technology to both maintain your good health and advance your career

Also on Wednesday, from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m., stop by our table in Moseley and donate spare change to go towards our Annual Book Scholarship (application deadline is Monday, April 21) to be awarded to a deserving minority female student

Friday: PINK PEARLS Join us in Holt Chapel @ 6 p.m. and be inspired by the stories of cancer survivors and their families.  Speakers include Elon students Alex Nickodem and Malik Daniels. Be sure to come out and support these courageous speakers!
