Health Services will administer flu vaccine injections free to students, faculty and staff October 27-31, 9:00 am until 4:00 pm in Moseley Center. Family members may receive the vaccine for $ 10 payable at the time the vaccine is administered.
This year Health Services will also make available FluMist, a nasal flu vaccine. Cost for the FluMist vaccine is $50 per dose. Students, faculty and staff may reserve a dose by calling 278-7230. FluMist is an alternative for patients up to age 49 who may be allergic to latex or are needle phobic. The FluMist vaccine is only recommended for persons aged 49 years or younger.
The CDC predicts a serious flu season this winter and the flu vaccine is the most effective means of preventing the flu.
