Opportunities with Elon Volunteers!

Many opportunities to volunteer through Elon Volunteers. Some of these only take 30 minutes and some are ongoing…so there is something for you! Please note that if you decide to pursue any of these opportunities you will need to email Anna Glodowski @ aglodowski@elon.edu and let her know so that she may record your volunteer hours.

Tutoring Opportunities/working with kids-

Would you like to be a lunch buddy? Sedalia Elementary is looking for lunch buddies for their students. This would involve going to lunch each week with your student buddy. You would be able to develop a special bond with a particular student. If you are interested please contact Anna Glodowski at X 4155 or aglodowski@elon.edu

Burlington Day School is looking for students who could go one day and share a story. They need people on Tuesday October 21st any time between 8:30 and 11am for 30 minute slots. You would go and share a short story or two with middle school students. You can choose your own story if you wish. Call by 3pm October 20th to sign up. Want to help a 4th grade girl with reading? A local 4th grade girl needs tutoring in reading. She was held back a year and her reading is still not improving. Her father would be so appreciative of any help you could give. If you are interested please contact Paul Jones at 584-8833.

Like Biology? Want to tutor in biology?

Elon Homes for Children is looking for Biology tutors for middle and high school students. They need tutors anytime between the hours of 8:30am-2:30 pm or 6-7pm. If you are interested please contact Leola Vaughan at 538-6101.

Timberlake Farms a local organic garden needs volunteers to help out with their garden October 25th anytime between the hours of 10 am-4pm. All volunteers will receive a free organic lunch. If interested please contact Megan Lane at 336-449-0612.

Help increase drug prevention awareness!

This only takes one hour! Help is needed for the Red Ribbon Week Campaign. You would be at the Belks at Holly Hill Mall. You would pass out red ribbons and information. The date is October 25th anytime from 1-4. If interested contact Crystal Taylor at 570-6644 ext 683

Be a game leader?!! Only takes 30 minutes!

The Alamance County Area Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring Boomers and Beyond “Planning for your future.” This will take place at Colonial Mall on November 5th from 9am-4pm. You can help out in 30 minute increments. They need people to help with bingo and other games. Students are invited to participate in the free screenings, food samples, and more!
