Orientation staff deliver quilts to Duke Hospital

On Saturday, Oct. 18, New Student Orientation Head Staff members delivered quilts for the children at Duke Children’s Hospital. During Orientation training, every Orientation Leader made a square for the children to offer encouragement and produce a smile. Later, over 100 squares were put together to form seven beautifully handmade quilts. New Student Orientation delivered these quilts to the hospital and they will be distributed to children who are in the hospital for long term care.

During their visit to Duke, Head Staff members Talitha Rector, Britten Ginsberg, Mackenzie Cogan, Brynn Porter, Sarah DeBock, and Brittany Brackett toured the hospital, with volunteer coordinator Edith Rosenblatt serving as a guide.

New Student Orientation is excited that some of the patients at Duke will have a homemade quilt in their room, making it feel a little bit more like home.
