Sophomore communications major Pam Richter had a first-person editorial published in the Greensboro News & Record Dec. 9.
Richter, who has been working as an editorial intern at the News & Record this semester, argues that it’s important for out-of-state students to be able to vote in elections in their college towns. Richter writes: “Some argue that college students negatively influence election outcomes because they aren’t from the area and don’t know enough about the local issues. Actually, many students volunteer in their community and participate in local political campaigns. Some of us even run for office.”
Richter also writes for Elon University’s campus newspaper, The Pendulum, and is an active member in Elon’s chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists.
