Several voice students from Elon were winners at the North Carolina National Association of Teachers of Singing Competition in November, 2008 and February, 2009. These students and other winners from MD, VA, Washington, DC, NC and SC participated in the regional competition, which was held on Saturday, April 4 at Appalachian State University in Boone, NC.
Three Elon students won their respective categories.

Brittany Weir, Second Place Freshman/Sophomore Women Music Theatre – student of Julie Celona-Van Gordon
Britney Caughell- Third Place – Freshman/Sophomore Women Music Theatre- student of Polly Butler Cornelius.
