Day of Silence – April 17

Tomorrow, April 17, is Day of Silence, which is a national youth movement seeking to bring attention to the silence faced by the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered people and their allies in response to harassment, violence and persecution inflicted upon them.

This year’s Day of Silence is held in memory of Lawrence King, a 15-year-old who was killed in his school because of his sexual orientation and gender expression.

Think about the voices you are not hearing: What are you going to do to end the silence?

The event begins tomorrow morning and will end at 4 p.m. in the Multicultural Center.

Please use the card available via the link at the right tomorrow to explain your silence.
