The Millennial Imagination class of Spring 2009 has been practicing methods of creative thinking and how to envision a world transformed – not just a little improved, but dramatically changed for the better. For the past few weeks we have been focusing specifically on Elon and how the University might progress in the next ten years – our contribution to the “Elon 2020” campus discussion. Three areas of great new potential we want to highlight are:
– creating a local sustainable economy
– using Elon’s outdoor campus to much greater advantage
– promoting a much more student-centered curriculum.
On May 11 and 12, the last two days of classes, we will be on campus outside of Octagon with flyers outlining our proposals, along with free hand-decorated T-shirts (you can help too!) for those willing to commit themselves to the cause. Join us to show your support for creative next steps for your university and to contribute your ideas as well. Be willing to think BIG!
