Sophomore Natalie Lampert has been selected to the Oxfam America CHANGE Initiative.
As part of the program, Lampert will participate in efforts dedicated to alleviating poverty through the promotion of social justice and civic responsibility by attending an intense week-long training session this summer. Lampert will then build a campaign to address a social justice issue on campus or in the community during the following academic year.
The selection process for the program was highly competitive, with only 50 students selected each year.
Oxfam America works in various disadvantaged countries around the world to provide basic necessities, such as food, water, safety and methods for making a living. Key issues Lampert will learn about through the CHANGE Initiative include climate change, hunger, poverty and emergency response.
