From May 27 – June 10, Heidi G. Frontani, professor of geography, served as one of 18 national-level reviewers of applications to the U.S. Department of Education’s annual Undergraduate International Studies and Foreign Languages (UISFL) grant competition. Frontani helped determine which undergraduate institutions would receive the competitive award designed to assist colleges and universities seeking to internationalize their campuses. Reviewers weigh the quality of the applications and applicant institution need for new courses, faculty development opportunities, additional study abroad offerings, expanded library holdings or language study facilities, and related factors.
