Elon’s Women and Gender Studies Program is collaborating with Family Abuse Services of Burlington for an event promoting advocacy and support of individuals who have experienced domestic violence, which includes the opportunity to “speak out” in a safe, inclusive, and empowering environment.
Guest speaker Azucena del Rio will be in attendance, and there will also be a candle-lighting ceremony to remember victims. “Speak Out” will be held Thursday, October 1, in McKinnon Hall from 6-8 pm. Contact Pam Thompson of Family Abuse Services with any questions at 336-226-5982.
