The American Heart Association announced this week that Elon is one of eight Triad area companies to achieve national Start! Fit-Friendly recognition for promoting physical activity and health in the workplace.
Gold level Start! Fit-Friendly Company recognitions have been awarded locally to Cook Medical, Princess House, Salemtowne Retirement Community, Forsyth Medical Center, United Healthcare, Vf Corporation and Elon University. The application for the recognition was submitted by Elon’s Wellness office.
Companies that achieve Platinum recognition – the highest tier – take the program a step further by measuring the outcomes of their wellness efforts. Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center has received Platinum level recognition as a Start! Fit-Friendly Company.
