Ayesha Delpish, an assistant professor of mathematics, and Janice Richardson, an associate professor of mathematics, last month presented a session, "Service Learning Infusion in Mathematics: Statistics and Education," at the International Association for Research on Service-learning and Community Engagement in Canada.
Richardson also presented workshops on algebraic reasoning to K-8 teachers in Vance, Orange, and Alamance counties in July at Granville Community College.
She has led ongoing professional development activities for teachers in a 3-year Math Science Partnership Grant, the goal of which is to improve the mathematics and science knowledge of students by providing professional-development activities to their mathematics and science teachers.
