The Burlington Royals Baseball Club, proud members of the Appalachian League, anticipates several internship positions available during the upcoming spring/summer of 2010. If you are interested in learning how a minor team league operates, this would be an excellent opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge in an atmosphere that encourages learning and active participation.
During the summer, interns become involved in all aspects of the organization, including on-field promotions, media relations, ticket and promotional sales, community relations, and office management. Our interns will have the opportunity to work closely with our fans and sponsors to ensure a meaningful experience for all parties involved. We also offer a specialty internship available to those interested in pursuing a career in broadcasting. Opportunities include:
Front Office Internships:
Each intern will rotate through various facets of daily operations. Time will be spent using interpersonal skills to conduct group tickets sales, promotions, special events, corporate advertising sales, and community relations. Interns will work in cooperative groups to develop and manage community and promotional nights throughout the season.
Broadcast Internship:
The Royals are seeking one intern to specialize in broadcasting to announce each home game via our Internet broadcast system.
Each available position is designed to provide interested and qualified candidates with an opportunity to gain valuable experience in an enjoyable, but demanding professional baseball environment, allowing an easier transition into higher level competition organizations.
Interns will be expected to attend all scheduled home games and are asked to be available from June 1 through August 31 as well as April 15-18 and May 5-8 for college tournaments that will be hosted at Burlington Athletic Stadium.
