PRSSA regional activity enjoys successful weekend at Elon

Elon University's chapter of the Public Relations Student Society of America hosted a successful regional PRSSA conference March 7 in the McEwen Communications building.

The conference, titled “PR in 3D,” explored various dimensions of public relations practice: the agency perspective, an in-house angle and a creative view. The half-day event brought together students from Elon, George Mason University and James Madison University to hear professionals discuss their experiences in PR.

The 25 participants heard from The Content Factor founder Paul McKeon; Alamance Regional Medical Center’s Director of PR Tracey Grayzer; and Trone’s Creative Director Scott Scaggs. Elon’s Assistant Director for Career Services in Communications Ross Wade also led participants through an interactive activity focusing on personal marketing.

Elon’s chapter was selected through a competitive bid process as one of 12 PRSSA chapters from across the country to host a regional event.
