Stephen Byrd, assistant professor of education, led a poster presentation titled “Parents and RTI: Building a Framework for Family Involvement” at the Council for Exceptional Children (CEC) Convention and Expo of in Nashville, Tenn.
Byrd’s research focuses on the roles of families in the response to intervention (RTI) process. Response to intervention is a multi-tiered approach to the early identification and support of students with learning and behavior needs.
The Council for Exceptional Children is an international organization representing various stakeholders who are committed to enhancing the lives of individuals with disabilities and their families. This year’s conference was held April 21-24 in Nashville, TN with over 6500 in attendance.
