In June, she directed and choreographed the world premiere of the original musical “Beatsville” for the Danish Musical Academy in Fredericia, Denmark.
The composer/lyricist team of Glenn Slater and Wendy Leigh Wilf were in attendance on opening night, as was composer/lyricist John Bucchino also at the academy developing his new musical “Esaura.”
She also spent two weeks teaching musical theatre classes, as well as directing and choreographing a final showcase for the Moscow Summer School for Russian Musical Actors. In Moscow, Formato collaborated with Elon colleagues April Hill and Haidee Dollak, who served as vocal instructor/musical director and accompanist, respectively.
