Daily Reflector: NC judge allows agency to retain texts to trooper

From the Greenville Daily Reflector (7/22/10): A North Carolina judge says a state agency can withhold flirty text messages a former high-ranking Highway Patrol officer received from his assistant.

Multiple media organizations reported Thursday that Wake County Superior Court Judge Paul Gessner sided with the agency. It argued public records laws don’t require it to turn over text messages received on a state-issued BlackBerry that involve personal discussions.
