Religious Holiday Policy – Feb. 9 Deadline for Spring dates

Dear Students:

This notice serves as a reminder of Elon’s Religious Holiday Observance Policy. Students requesting to be absent from class due to a religious holiday, must complete the Religious Holiday Observance Form and directly advise faculty of any anticipated absences by the end of the first week of the semester (Wednesday, February 9th this semester).

February 3 Chinese New Year Buddhist

March 19 Magha Puja Day Buddhist

April 19-20 Pesach/Passover begins (sundown 18th) Jewish

April 22 Good Friday Christian

May 17 Buddha Day – Visakha Puja Buddhist

 

*Jewish and Islamic Holidays begin at sundown and generally end at sundown, as noted above. Islamic holidays are calculated on a lunar calendar and are approximate.
