Join the Periclean Scholars at College Coffee this Tuesday, March 8 and meet the 2011’s Periclean Scholar in Residence, Mr. Chamindha Mahanayake.
Chamindha is heavily involved in the environmental movement and works as a wildlife photographer in Sri Lanka, a world biodiversity hotspot. He is the world’s first photographer of the Horton Plains Slender Loris, a small primate that was thought to be extinct until his photograph was published.
He is a wonderful source of information, not only about the environment, but about cultural differences between the United States and Sri Lanka. Come say hello!
Freshmen, also be sure to stop by the table to learn how to apply for the new class of Periclean Scholars, working in Appalachia!
