Rebecca Pope-Ruark, assistant professor of english in the professional writing and rhetoric concentration, presented with two students, Sarah Talbott '11 and Kasey Thornton '12, at the Association of Teachers of Technical Writing (ATTW) Annual Conference held in Atlanta in April.
In their talk, titled “Scrum Up: Using Agile Software Development’s Scrum Methodology in the Collaborative Classroom,” they reported on personal growth in collaboration skills during two unique project-based courses taught by Pope-Ruark during the 2009-10 academic year and on the findings of a summer follow-up study they conducted with other students who had taken the classes. Talbott and Thornton were the only undergraduate students presenting at ATTW.
