Communications assistant professor Derek Lackaff is participating as a faculty mentor at the Gary Chapman School on Digital Transformation in Porto, Portugal July 17-22.
There, he gave a talk titled “Open Innovation as digital democracy: Emerging approaches to collaborative governance,” which argued that online open innovation platforms like Reykjavik, Iceland’s “Better Reykjavik” present interesting (and under-examined) opportunities for citizen engagement and the development of collaborative governance structures.
