Twenty-one Business Fellows and four faculty members from the Love School of Business traveled to New York City to visit Wall Street firms September 15-17 as part of the annual Business Fellows New York City fall trip.
All students visited Bloomberg and the New York Stock Exchange hosted by Barclays. Marketing, management, entrepreneurship and international business students were hosted by David Beahm Designs, Omnicom and Mainstay Investments, NY Life. Finance, accounting and economics students visited Credit Suisse, BNY Mellon and UBS. During the visits students acquired knowledge of how the firms operated and learned of possible career opportunities.
Elon alums, parents, LSB advisory board members and Mary Gowan, professor of management, were instrumental in coordinating the company visits. A successful Elon alumni event provided students with a networking opportunity and the chance to talk to alums about living and working in New York City.
The Business Fellows were accompanied by Tina Das, director of the Business Fellows program and professor of economics; Sharon Hodge, associate professor and chair of the marketing and entrepreneurship department; Wonhi Synn, professor and chair of the finance department; and Gary Tsarsis, director of the William Garrard Reed Finance Center.
