John Burbridge, a professor of operations and supply chain management, presented "Sabermetrics: Analytics and Baseball" at the INFORMS Annual Meeting on Nov. 16 in Charlotte, N.C.
INFORMS is a professional organization of more than 9,000 academics and practitioners in the field of operations research and management sciences.
Burbridge discussed the past and present of sabermetrics and the current importance of analytics in baseball. He finalized his talk by discussing the research projects the students in the upper level GST course, Baseball and Statistics, are currently involved with.
