Lauren Kearns publishes article about the making of a multimedia dance piece.
Lauren Kearns, Associate Professor of Dance and Head of Dance Program recently published “I Live Here: A Multimedia Performance and Educational Project”. The article details the creative and pedagogical challenges of creating a work of art based in the vernacular of dance, performance, design, cinema, and social media at Elon University during the 2008-2009 academic year. The article appears in a special issue of the Journal of Dance Education focusing on Pop Culture, Media and Dance Education.
“I Live Here” was the recipient of an Elon Fund for Excellence Grant and was an interdisciplinary collaboration between the Department of Performing Arts and the School of Communications.
