Mina Garcia Soormally, assistant professor of Spanish, published an article, “El cuerpo sin marca en el Tuzaní de la Alpujarra” (“The unmarked body in Tuzaní de la Alpujarra”), in the Bulletin of the Comediantes, a semiannual periodical specialized in early modern Hispanic theater dealing with 16th- and 17th-century peninsular and colonial Latin American drama.
Garcia Soormally’s article is a reflection on the use of the body in the midst of the conflict that took place in Granada between 1568-70 as it is presented in a play by Calderón de la Barca, one of Spain’s most famous playwrights.
