The Communications Alumni Network recognized Ross Wade, the former assistant director of career services for the School of Communications, as the "World's Most Extraordinary Careers Mentor."
Wade left Elon after working closely with students and alumni of the School of Communications during the past five years. Recognition of Wade’s contribution was the idea of Communications Alumni Network President Katie Sherman ’04 and Vice President Bettina Johnson ’06.
Wade was presented with a certificate of appreciation on behalf of the network by Communications assistant professor Gerald Gibson, who also serves as the School’s coordinator of alumni activities. The certificate recalled Wade’s contributions and expressed appreciation for his involvement in the professional development of students and graduates.
“Your investment in us means the world,” Gibson said. “Thanks for your optimism and unyielding belief in our talent.”
Wade was also given a wooden acorn paperweight by the Communications Alumni Network.
“This can be a small reminder, sitting quietly on your desk, of the difference you made at Elon and in the School of Communications,” Gibson said.
