Sixty-six percent of Elon University employees this year made gifts to the institution in support of student scholarships, athletics programs and more.
Elon employees celebrated a record-breaking year for the 2012-2013 Faculty/Staff campaign at a May 10 reception held in Lakeside Dining Hall.
The campaign had 833 employee donors, yielding a record 66 percent giving rate and gifts of more than $406,200 in support of of scholarships, the Elon Experiences, academic departments and schools, and athletics, among other priorities.
The afternoon celebration featured a video of Elon students expressing their gratitude to donors, as well as remarks from campaign co-chairs Kelly Reimer ’00 and Professor Paul Miller, who presented a check for the campaign proceeds to President Leo M. Lambert.
“This is tremendous,” Lambert said. “These are extraordinary gifts, and from the bottom of my heart, I thank each and every one of you.”
Jake Pope ‘01, assistant director of annual giving, helped organize campaign participation across the campus.
“The faculty/staff campaign is one of the university initiatives that unites all Elon employees for one cause,” Pope said. “The success of this campaign shows that support for Elon begins right here with the employees.”
Faculty and staff who have not yet participated can contribute to the annual giving campaign until May 31 by visiting www.elon.edu/makeagift.
