Elon's senior BFA acting majors are hard at work raising money to bring to campus agents and casting directors from NYC and LA to forge connections in the professional world.
Every year the senior performing arts majors of Elon work to raise money to produce their senior shows and bring down industry professionals to audition for, take workshops from, and gain insightful knowledge about the real world of acting.
This year, the senior BFA acting majors did something a little different. Instead of raising money to produce two senior shows, they decided instead to piece together and rehearse an “Industry Showcase.” Each member of the class participates in a two-person scene and performs a monologue. Their objective was to have a showcase ready to perform for invited industry professionals to view when they visit Elon to work with the seniors.
In deciding to do a showcase rather than two shows, the senior acting majors saved a lot of money and instead are using those funds to fly to campus agents and casting directors from NYC and LA.
Having this opportunity is really important because it has the potential, as it has proven in the past, to increase the chances of being represented, signed or even a job after graduating—a rare feat in this business.
Among their many attempts at fundraising, the seniors put together an IndieGoGo campaign to widen their outreach and help in spreading the word about their cause.
Please help these seniors by spreading the word or doanting to the cause.
Sincerely,
The BFA Acting Class of 2014
