As Elon celebrates the 125th anniversary of its founding, a weeklong contest testing knowledge of university history begins today with a chance for students, faculty and staff to win prizes.
In honor of Founders Day 2014, which on March 11 marks Elon’s quasquicentennial, each day this week a new trivia question will be posted on E-Net before 10 a.m. with prizes that include gift cards to restaurants and other local food establishments.
MONDAY’S QUESTION:
In what years did Dr. J. Earl Danieley ’46, Dr. Fred Young, and Dr. Leo M. Lambert become president of Elon?
All Elon students, faculty and staff are welcome to submit one answer to eheiser@elon.edu, and at the end of each day, all correct answers will be pooled and a winner chosen at random. Answers may be submitted until 6 p.m.
A special College Coffee and tree planting is set for Tuesday, March 11, featuring Danieley, Young and Lambert, and a special Elon historical exhibit is now on display in the Isabella Cannon Room in the Center for the Arts
Elon established Founders Day to honor significant figures from its history and to commemorate the lives of administrators, faculty and trustees who impacted the growth of the institution.
