The music production & recording arts alumnus composed and recorded "Light," the first song of a new album produced by Musicians for a Cause in support of the nonprofit One Fund Boston.
Elon University alumnus Frank Hurd ’12 had his song “Light” chosen as the lead track of a music fundraising campaign in support of the victims of the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing.
“Don’t let the darkness steal the day,” a line from Hurd’s song, is also part of the fundraising campaign’s official name.
Hurd, a graduate of the music production & recording arts major, wrote and recorded the song this spring. All proceeds from the campaign support One Fund Boston, a nonprofit that distributes donations to victims of an attack that killed three people and injured scores more on April 15, 2013.
Musicians for a Cause, a grassroots effort by which artists can submit their music for sale in support of charitable initiatives, produced “BOSTON STRONG: Don’t Let the Darkness Steal the Day.” For more more information about the campaign, visit: http://songs4acause.org/BostonStrong
