The Elon Music Ambassadors, directed by Virginia Novine Whittaker, recently completed a four-day performance tour of high schools in Northern Virginia and Maryland.
This select ensemble consists of ten music majors, instrumentalists and vocalists, each nominated by the music department faculty to represent Elon University to prospective students.
This most recent performance tour, May 19-22, included performances for five high school audiences totaling over 1100 students. Each performance was enthusiastically received and followed by a question and answer session providing the interested students with information about Elon and all aspects of the music department. This marks the seventh performance tour since Novine Whittaker founded the ensemble in Fall 2011. To date, the Elon Music Ambassadors have performed for over 35 different high school audiences from FL, SC, NC, VA, MD and NJ.
